Dr. Martien den Hertog is a permanent CNRS researcher at Institut Neel in Grenoble, France, since 2010. She works in the Department of Physique LUmière Matière (PLUM) within the Materials, Radiations, Structure (MRS) team, focusing on advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques.
- PhD in TEM of nanostructures (University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, 2009)
- Coordinator of ANR COSMOS project (2010)
- ERC Starting Grant recipient (e-See, 2018)
Her research explores the correlation between structural, electrical, and optical properties of semiconducting nanowires at sub-nm resolution through:
- In-situ TEM biasing and heating experiments
- Quantitative electron holography for doping analysis
- Development of cryogenic in-situ TEM methods
- Nanofabrication of nitride membranes compatible with TEM
Collaborations span multiple institutions including CEA Grenoble, CEMES Toulouse, Technical University of Vienna, and Antwerpen University. She employs both electrical and optical spectroscopy in conjunction with TEM characterization.
- CNRS Bronze Medal (2019)
