Marte Ostvik-de Wilde is an Associate Professor of Counseling, Department Chair of Counseling & Applied Behavioral Studies, and Program Director of the School Counseling Program at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) since 2013. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, an M.A. from The Ohio State University, and a B.S. from Boston University.
Her research focuses on social emotional learning in children and adolescents, school-based mental health interventions through counseling groups, and the professional development of school counselors. She teaches courses such as Crisis & Trauma Counseling, Group Process & Dynamics, and Leadership in School Counseling.
Affiliations include the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Prior to academia, she worked as a K-12 school counselor and supervisor.
