Marta Tigano

Marta Tigano is a Full Professor of Canon Law at the Department of Law of the University of Messina. She holds a Law degree from the University of Messina (1994) and a PhD in Ecclesiastical and Canon Law from the University of Naples Federico II (1999). Her career includes roles as a research fellow, lecturer, and eventually full professor. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Law and teaches courses such as Canon Law and Ecclesiastical Law at undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research focuses on intersections between law and religion, including religious minorities, family law, and governance of religious institutions. She actively participates in academic activities like conferences and editorial work in legal journals. Her professional memberships include the AICDA (Associazione Italiana Cultori di Diritto Agrario) and she contributes to public engagement initiatives promoting legal education and critical thinking.
