Her research interests include far-right terrorism in the West, transnational terrorist networks, and comparative analyses of terrorism in post-Soviet republics. She investigates the social and political impacts of terrorism on regions like the Visegrad Group states and East Africa. Stempień’s contributions address counterterrorism policies, the proliferation of extremist ideologies, and the interplay between terrorism and geopolitical interests, particularly Russian involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts.
Publications highlight trends in global terrorism from 2015–2022, including quantitative analyses of terrorism in Russia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Syria. She critiques the effectiveness of international non-proliferation regimes and explores cultural dimensions of security in state defense strategies. Her interdisciplinary approach combines quantitative methods with qualitative content analysis to dissect terrorist propaganda and organizational structures.
While no specific scientific awards are listed, her extensive publication record reflects a commitment to advancing understanding of contemporary security challenges. Her research informs policy discussions on counterterrorism and regional stability, addressing both state-level and transnational dimensions of security threats.
