معرفی
Marta Roman is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Physics and Applied Computer Science, part of the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics at Gdańsk University of Technology. Her research focuses on the interplay between charge density waves (CDW), magnetism, and magnetotransport properties in intermetallic compounds, particularly lanthanide-based ternary carbides like RNiC2.
- Doctoral degree in Physical Sciences (2020), awarded by Gdańsk University of Technology.
Her experimental work employs X-ray diffraction, transport measurements, and thermal analysis to study CDW formation, phase competition, and symmetry changes in materials such as HoNiC2, ErNiC2, and TmNiC2. Recent publications highlight her investigation of field-tuned magnetic states and nonsaturating magnetoresistance phenomena.
Current projects include the ETIUDA program-funded study on CDW and magnetism in LnNiC2 compounds, focusing on tuning magnetic phases via external fields. Collaborative work involves computational methods like Density Functional Theory (DFT) to model structural and electronic properties.
