Marta Lomazzi is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Institute of Global Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the same institution. Her work bridges basic research and applied public health, focusing on preventive strategies to reduce non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly among university students. She serves as Communication Manager at the Institute of Global Health and as Executive Manager of the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), where she designs and evaluates public health programs addressing global health challenges like vaccination equity, oral health policy, and digital health innovation.
Her research spans global health governance, health communication, and the implementation of policy frameworks such as the Global Charter for the Public’s Health. She has led initiatives on topics including e-cigarette environmental impacts, sugar taxation for oral health, and the digital transformation of healthcare systems. Her contributions include over 30 peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing evidence-based strategies to strengthen health systems and promote health equity.
Lomazzi also coordinates the WFPHA’s Oral Health Working Group and has advised on public health activities since 2009. Her work highlights interdisciplinary collaboration between academia, policy, and civil society to tackle complex health issues in a globalized context.
