Marta Entradas is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, Iscte - Lisbon University Institute, and a Visiting Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is also an Integrated Researcher at CIES-Iscte - Center for Research and Studies in Sociology. Her work bridges sociology, science communication, and science policy, with a strong focus on institutional practices of public engagement.

Her research centers on science communication, public understanding of science, science policy, and institutional communication. She investigates how research universities and institutes communicate with the public, examining motivations, resources, and impacts. Her current work explores the 'arms race' for visibility versus scientific substance in institutional science communication.
The analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on cross-national comparative studies of research institutes' public communication, with empirical work spanning Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Key themes include professionalization, resource allocation, public engagement profiles, and the tension between public duty and institutional self-interest.

Research Leadership and Grants: Marta Entradas has led multiple high-impact international projects as Principal Investigator, including MORE-PE, OPEN, POIESIS, Blockchain.PT, and CoPaDiSC, funded by FCT, the European Commission, and national agencies. She has also served as Co-PI on the RadoNorm project. Her work involves extensive collaboration across Portugal, Italy, Germany, the UK, the USA, Brazil, Japan, and other countries.
