Marta Antonova is a doctoral student and research assistant at the Institute of Political Science, University of Bern, affiliated with the Chair of Political Sociology led by Prof. Dr. Markus Freitag. She holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim, Germany, with a minor in English/American Studies. Her research focuses on political sociology, crises, and immigration policies, employing quantitative methodologies. Previously, she served as a research assistant at the German Microdata Lab (GESIS) in Mannheim and contributed to the 'Immigration Policies in Comparison (IMPIC)' project at the Mannheim Center for Social Research (MZES).
In teaching, she co-led the Bachelor's proseminar "The Political Sociology of Crises" in Spring 2024. Her professional trajectory reflects a strong emphasis on empirical research in political behavior, migration governance, and crisis response frameworks. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams at leading German and Swiss institutions, leveraging computational social science tools.
