Marsha Bryant, a Professor and Distinguished Teaching Scholar at the University of Florida’s Department of English (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences), focuses on modernist literature, pedagogy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She teaches courses on British/American literature, modernism, women’s writing, and post-punk cultures. A leader in innovative teaching methods, Bryant co-founded campus workshops like “Teaching with Archives” with colleagues Mary Ann Eaverly and Charlie Hailey. Her research bridges literature with art, architecture, and material culture through collaborations with the Harn Museum of Art and the Impact of Materials on Society (IMOS) group.
Bryant’s publications include Auden and Documentary in the 1930s, Women’s Poetry and Popular Culture, and edited collections like Photo-Textualities. Her current book project explores pedagogical strategies for modernist studies. Bryant’s work appears in journals such as Modernism/modernity and Feminist Modernist Studies, alongside creative beer reviews in The Massachusetts Review blog.
Award-winning mentor, she received the 2018 UF Doctoral Mentoring Award and remains active in the Modernist Studies Association. Beyond academia, Bryant enjoys axe throwing, museum visits, and supporting the Tampa Bay Lightning.
