Marques Teresa

Teresa Marques is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, University of Barcelona, tenured since 2021. She holds a PhD from the University of Stirling (2004), M.Litt from the University of St. Andrews (1997), and a BA from the University of Lisbon (1994). Her research focuses on philosophy of language, conceptual engineering, epistemology, feminist/social philosophy, hate speech, and metaethics. She has been a co-PI of state-funded projects on hybrid representations and coordinates outreach for the Barcelona Institute of Analytic Philosophy’s María de Maeztu Research Programme.

Key awards include the ICREA Acadèmia Award (2022), Profesora Catedrática accreditation (2020), and Beatriz Galindo Award (2020). Since 2018, she has published 17 works, including papers in specialty journals and edited volumes. She has delivered 38 keynote/invited lectures and organized over 10 international conferences.

Her academic service includes editing Disputatio (2009–2017), serving as subject editor at *Thought*, and roles in the European Society for Analytic Philosophy’s Steering Committee (2014–2023). She mentors 4 postdocs, supervises 4 PhD students (2 ongoing), and coordinates the APhil Master Program in Analytic Philosophy.
