- M.A. in Mathematical Sciences from SUNY Binghamton (2001)
- M.A. in Statistics from SUNY Buffalo (1998)
- B.A. in Math and Statistics from SUNY Buffalo (1996)
Dr. Brown's research specializes in change-point detection for count data, developing algorithms to identify shifts in arrival rates through probability calculations and cost-minimizing detection procedures. Her work spans single-variable and multi-category data scenarios with documented applications in industrial monitoring, educational assessment, and medical diagnostics. Current extensions focus on detecting gradual changes in data streams.
She actively contributes to academic service as a Mathematical Association of America (MAA) program committee member for sectional meetings and serves on Niagara University's general education committee task force.
