Marlene Hennessy is a Professor of English at Hunter College, part of the School of Arts and Sciences within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. She serves on Hunter's Council on Honors and specializes in medieval literary and manuscript studies.

- Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University (2001)
Her research focuses on Middle English literature, medieval manuscripts, and religious culture, particularly in Scotland. Key projects include:
- Authoring An Index of Images in English and Scottish Manuscripts, a foundational reference work
- Co-editing the Proceedings of the 2024 Harlaxton Symposium on medieval manuscripts
