Marlene Corton, MD, is a Clinical Professor and member of the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She directs a nationally recognized cadaveric pelvic anatomy training program focused on minimally invasive and complex pelvic reconstructive techniques for obstetrician-gynecologists. Her clinical expertise includes pelvic organ prolapse, urinary/fecal incontinence, and pelvic pain, with special emphasis on robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgical approaches.
Education: B.S. in Biochemistry from Cook College, Rutgers University; M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Completed residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital/UT Southwestern and a urogynecology preceptorship under Dr. Joseph Schaffer.
Research interests center on anatomical training and surgical innovation in pelvic reconstructive procedures. She leads educational initiatives at the Southwestern Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, combining lab-based anatomy training with clinical practice. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Corton specializes in patient-centered care for multilingual populations, offering comprehensive anal physiology testing including endoanal sonography and manometry.
