Dr. Ernst-Friedrich Markus Vorrath (born Henke) is a Researcher at the Chair of Microsystems within the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Technische Universität Dresden. He leads the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group MEiTNER and serves as a principal investigator (PI) for DFG and SAB funded projects.

His research focuses on smart materials and biomimetic systems, with specific expertise in adaptive composites, dielectric elastomers, and polymer electronics. Prior to his current role, he conducted postdoctoral work on soft robotic systems and multifunctional materials at the Biomimetics Lab, Auckland Bioengineering Institute, supported by MSCA and DAAD fellowships through the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme.
