Markus Riedl

Markus Riedl is a researcher at the Institute of Animal Cell Technology and Systems Biology under the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). His work focuses on advancing biotechnological applications in animal cell systems, particularly for therapeutic antibody production.

His research interests include genetic engineering in CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) cell lines, CRISPR/Cpf1 technology, and systems biology approaches to improve selection efficiency in bioprocessing. This aligns with his recent publications on gene expression and metabolic modifications in therapeutic antibody production.

Riedl’s contributions extend to collaborative research within BOKU, where his institute develops innovative tools for molecular self-assembly and nanoscale material design inspired by biological principles. His work is documented in the Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal and Scientific Reports.
