Markus Keller is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo. He is affiliated with the Interreligious Studies and Islamic Theology research group and serves as project manager for the initiative "Study Quality in the First Year" (SKF). His academic work focuses on religion's role in societal dynamics and conflicts.
- Education: Master of Philosophy in Peace and Conflict Studies (2012), Bachelor in Theology/Interreligious Studies (2009)
His research examines religious minorities in civil wars, minority-majority tensions, and mechanisms of rebellion, with particular emphasis on religious leaders' influence in conflict dynamics and justification of violence. He also investigates religion's intersection with political structures in Europe.
Keller contributes to pedagogical projects like BraStart, which analyzes academic integration and dropout among first-year students using learning analytics. He teaches courses covering the History of Christianity, Multi-religious Norway, Religion and Ethics, and Religion and Politics in Europe.
