Markus Hertrich

Markus Hertrich is a Research Professor at the Research Centre of the Deutsche Bundesbank within the Directorate General Economics. His research focuses on asset pricing, financial econometrics, international economics, and monetary policy. He has contributed to understanding foreign exchange interventions, housing market dynamics, and the credibility of exchange rate policies.

His work examines the costs and implications of central bank policies like the Swiss National Bank's minimum exchange rate regime. Key publications include analyses of the Euro/Swiss Franc floor's credibility and the distribution of exchange rates under intervention policies.

Hertrich holds the Best Master’s Thesis of the Year 2008 and a Young Scientist Award (2nd Prize) from the Basel Private Bankers. His research also explores credit risk, liquidity risk interactions, and derivatives pricing frameworks with boundary constraints.
