Prof. Dr. Markus Beiler is an Associate Professor for Journalism Research at the Institute of Communication and Media Studies, University of Leipzig. He leads the M.Sc. Journalism program and serves as deputy director of the Center for Journalism and Democracy (JoDem). His academic career includes a junior professorship at Leipzig (2013–2021), a professorship at the University of Vienna (2014–2016), and extensive research on digital transformation in journalism and empirical public communication.
