Marko Pitesa is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University, with a concurrent Lee Kong Chian Fellowship. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Grenoble Ecole de Management. His research focuses on ethics, equality of opportunity, and socioeconomic dynamics in workplaces, exploring topics like workplace fairness, discrimination, resource allocation, and power dynamics.
His work addresses critical issues such as how material scarcity affects moral judgment, the role of socioeconomic status in employee trust and advancement, and the impact of attractiveness and financial vulnerability on workplace outcomes. He has published in top journals including Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Academy of Management Journal, and Psychological Science.
Pitesa's research highlights systemic biases in organizational processes and proposes frameworks to address inequities. His studies often integrate evolutionary psychology and economic theories to explain behaviors like unethical negotiation patterns and workplace discrimination. He emphasizes the need for non-WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic) perspectives in organizational research.
