Marko Erceg is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Split, Croatia, where he also serves as Vice-Dean for Business Policy and Finances. His academic work spans both mathematical analysis (Friedrichs systems, entropy solutions, H-distributions) and applied sports science (soccer, futsal, motor abilities, physiological assessments). He teaches courses such as Theory and Methodology of Soccer and Futsal, and coordinates Sports Trainer programs.
- Education: PhD in Kinesiology (University of Split, 2011); earlier degree from Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (2000).
His research bridges mathematical modeling of physical systems and kinesiological studies in sports performance. Recent mathematical articles focus on partial differential equations, stochastic processes, and operator theory, while sports-science works analyze youth soccer development, training load effects, and physiological adaptations in athletes.
Notable trends in his publications include:
- 2025–2023: Mathematical analysis of kinetic equations, entropy solutions, and Friedrichs systems.
- 2024–2023: Sports training interventions (HIIT), positional and age-related performance differences in soccer/futsal.
- 2022–2013: Longitudinal studies on glucosamine therapy, pulmonary function in athletes, morphological asymmetry, and test reliability in kinesiology.
