Dr. Marketa Dolezalova is a Research Fellow in Labour Migration at the Leeds University Business School (LUBS), University of Leeds. Previously, she held an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the School of Sociology and Social Policy before joining LUBS in 2021 to work on the LIMITS project, examining labor mobility post-Brexit and during the pandemic in sectors like social care and manufacturing. Her research focuses on migration, mobility, inequality, and ethnic minorities, with particular attention to Roma communities. She employs ethnographic methods to explore economic strategies, policy impacts, and social dynamics.
Qualifications include a PhD and MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester and a BA from Goldsmiths College. Professional memberships include the Royal Anthropological Institute, European Association of Social Anthropologists, and others. She has conducted fieldwork in the Czech Republic and the UK, contributing to projects on media polarization and migrant welfare.
Her research interests span migration policies, labor markets, and qualitative methodologies. Notable works address Roma health access, pandemic religious practices, and academic mobility decisions. She actively engages with policy implications of her findings through interdisciplinary collaborations and public-facing research.
