Mark Windschitl

Mark Windschitl is a Professor in the Teaching, Learning & Curriculum department at the University of Washington's College of Education. His work focuses on science education, climate change pedagogy, and teacher development. He directs the IslandWood Graduate Program's Science or Math Education Specialization and the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP).

Windschitl's research centers on ambitious and equitable science teaching practices, with significant contributions through his framework of Ambitious Science Teaching (AST) and recent groundbreaking work in climate change education.
