Mark Viant is a Professor of Metabolomics specializing in method development for metabolomics analysis, environmental toxicology, and applications in human disease. His work integrates analytical chemistry, bioinformatics, and computational approaches to address molecular responses to pollutants and diseases such as blood cancers and inflammation. He leads over 75 research projects, including collaborations with the European Commission and industry partners like Unilever. His lab focuses on advancing metabolomics tools for environmental monitoring and chemical risk assessment, with recent studies on cardiac microtissues and Daphnia magna toxicity. Projects such as PrecisionTox aim to develop novel chemical safety methods.
