Professor Mark Tjoelker (Interim Director, Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment) is a leading plant biologist and ecologist at Western Sydney University. His research focuses on climate change impacts on trees, ecosystem carbon cycling, and urban forestry. He previously served as faculty at Texas A&M University (2009–2011) and holds editorial roles in New Phytologist and Functional Ecology.
