Mark Smith is the Wayne M. & Carolyn A. Watson Professor of Psychology at Davidson College, with affiliations in both the Psychology and Neuroscience departments. He is a leading expert in addiction research, focusing on the behavioral effects of opioids and cocaine.
- Ph.D. in Psychology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- B.A. in Psychology, Lenoir-Rhyne College
His research examines individual differences in drug sensitivity through biological, pharmacological, and environmental variables, using animal models to develop interventions for substance abuse. He teaches courses including General Psychology, Behavioral Pharmacology, and Clinical Psychopharmacology.
