Mark S. Massa, S.J. is a Professor of Theology and Director of the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life at Boston College. He holds a Th.D. from Harvard University, with prior degrees from the University of Detroit, University of Chicago, and Weston Jesuit School of Theology. His research focuses on post-WWII Catholic experience in America, theological irony, and Vatican II's impact. Recent work examines anti-Catholicism and the transformation of American Catholicism in the 1960s.
