Mark S. Chen will join Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences as an Assistant Professor of Psychology on July 1, 2026. His research examines stress and psychopathology across the lifespan, focusing on emotion regulation, depression/anxiety, and cultural contexts.

Dr. Chen's work employs multidisciplinary methods, including laboratory experiments, longitudinal studies, and ecological momentary assessments. He investigates how adverse experiences shape emotional processes and how interventions can be tailored to individual and cultural contexts.
