Mark Richardson is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Design at Monash University, within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. Prior to academia, he served as a Senior Designer at Ford Motor Company, contributing to global projects like the R7 show car, Territory, European Mondeo, and Asia Pacific Fiesta. He transitioned to academia after completing a PhD focused on advancing ecologically and socially sustainable mobility systems through hands-on design practices.
His research explores methods to shift design and production paradigms toward sustainable, resilient, and accessible systems, emphasizing making, sharing, and learning. Key initiatives include the MOBILITY DESIGN LAB and the Warracknabeal Creative Circuit, a regional makerspace blending low-cost technology with craft.
