Mark Popofsky

Mark Popofsky is a Lecturer in Law at Penn Carey Law School, University of Pennsylvania, and also serves as a Lecturer of Law at Harvard Law School since 2019. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Advanced Antitrust Law and Economics at Georgetown University Law Center since 2000, reflecting his deep engagement in legal education. His primary professional role is Chair of the Antitrust Group at Ropes & Gray LLP, where he leads high-stakes antitrust litigation and advising.

Mark Popofsky’s research centers on antitrust law, particularly exclusionary conduct, monopolization doctrine, and the interface between antitrust and intellectual property rights. He has extensively written and spoken on the extraterritorial reach of the Sherman Act and the legal treatment of Patent Assertion Entities. His scholarly work is widely cited and has significantly influenced antitrust legal thinking.

His recent scholarly output shows a sustained focus on foundational antitrust principles, especially the legal standards for monopolization and jurisdictional scope in criminal enforcement.
