Mark Pipes is an active saxophonist, educator, and clinician based in Portland. He currently serves as a Lecturer at Portland State University's College of the Arts, teaching saxophone, and also instructs at Young Musicians and Artists. His performance career spans jazz and classical genres, featuring memberships in the Portland Wind Symphony, PDX Saxophone Ensemble (co-founder), and collaborations with ensembles like the Ne Plus Ultra Jazz Orchestra and Beaverton Symphony.

His work has been presented at NASA conferences in Las Cruces (2017) and Ellensburg (2019).

As a pedagogue, Mark has mentored students who have excelled in competitions such as the Rocky Mountain Solo Competition and Oregon State Solo Championships, with many pursuing graduate degrees or professional performance careers. He also contributed to music education during the pandemic by producing livestream shows with GMS Media and now works to connect performing arts organizations with funding and outreach.
