Dr. Mark Peter Shephard is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at the School of Government and Public Policy, University of Strathclyde. He specializes in Scottish and British politics, social media's role in political processes, elite behavior, legislatures, public opinion, parties, and elections. His research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16).
He has led significant projects such as the ESRC/AQMeN-funded 'Future of the United Kingdom and Scotland' study, examining social media's impact on the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum.
