Mark Mueckenheim

Mark Mueckenheim is a licensed architect and academic with over 25 years of experience across Europe and the United States. Currently serving as Graduate Director of the School of Architecture at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, he also holds the title of Honorary Adjunct Professor at ITM (sls) Baroda University, India. Previously, he was a Visiting Professor and Department Chair at TU Munich (2009–2012) and an Assistant Professor at RWTH Aachen University (2002–2008).

His education includes a Master of Architecture from Parsons School of Design, New York (1998) and a Graduate Diploma in Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL (2001), supported by a Fulbright Scholarship and DAAD Merit-Based Grant.

Research focuses on bridging theory and practice through design methodology, typology, and resilient building integration. He emphasizes architecture’s cultural and environmental responsibility. Notable awards include the MACEF International Design Award and recognition from North Rhine-Westphalia for architectural innovation.

Collaborations with Brazilian architect Maria Paz de Moura Castro (Rizoma Arquitetura) led to founding PMCKM Architects (2017–present). His work spans built projects and exhibitions globally, including the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale and House of Architecture, Lille.
