Research Focus
Ma’s scholarship is organized around two major themes. The first addresses traditional accounting questions in capital markets—how financial and tax reporting affect firm value, innovation, and governance. The second, rapidly growing strand investigates contemporary social issues such as remote work, return-to-office mandates, diversity & inclusion, and work-life balance. His work relies heavily on large-scale empirical data, quasi-natural experiments, and rigorous econometric methods.
