Mark Lassiter is a Professor and Chair of Studies in Natural and Health Sciences at Montreat College's Faculty of Science and Human Services. He holds a Ph.D. in Insect Physiology from North Carolina State University and has been with Montreat since 1992. His academic mission integrates Christian growth with rigorous scientific training, emphasizing student research mentorship.
His research focuses on Biochemistry and Mosquito Physiology, while guiding student projects in diverse areas including environmental chemistry, microbial detection, and biotechnical methods. His work bridges laboratory science with environmental stewardship.
Publications predominantly explore insect endocrinology and vector biology, with later works addressing science education and institutional collaboration. Research themes show progression from molecular entomology to pedagogical leadership.
