Mark Krasij is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at The University of Texas at Arlington, where he has served since 2009. He holds an MS in Mathematics from UTA (2008), an MA in Mathematics from Providence College (2005), and a BS in Social Science from the University of Connecticut (2001). His research focuses on inquiry-oriented instruction in mathematics, with teaching specialties in Calculus I, Math Education, and Geometry.
He currently coordinates the Calculus I program and serves as Faculty Liaison for Peer Led Team Learning (PLTL). Previously, he advised students from 2010–2013. Krasij has also reviewed textbooks for Brooks/Cole and authored over 80 recommendation letters for students.
He is a Certified Peer Observer through the Center for Research on Teaching and Learning Excellence (2022–present) and presented on calculus initiatives at the Regional Math Leaders Meeting in 2023.
