Mark Johnsen

Mark Johnsen is an Assistant Professor at the Audain Faculty of Art, Emily Carr University of Art + Design. He specializes in printmaking and collaborative art projects, co-founding Patio Press with artist Sara-Jeanne Bourget. His work has been exhibited globally, including in the US, Canada, the UK, Turkey, Bosnia, Japan, Switzerland, and New Zealand. Johnsen holds a BFA in Photography from California College of the Arts (2012) and an MFA from Emily Carr University (2020).

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Print I: Screenprinting+Litho, Print Media Practices, and Senior Studio Interdiscipline. His practice emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to print media and community-driven artistic collaboration.

Despite no listed scientific awards or grants, Johnsen’s exhibitions and pedagogical contributions reflect a focus on expanding contemporary art practices through printmaking.
