Mark Hibbett

Mark Hibbett is a Researcher and PhD candidate at the University of the Arts London (UAL), affiliated with Central Saint Martins. He serves as Head of Research Information Systems, managing UAL's REF submission and overseeing systems like Elements and Figshare. His academic work focuses on comics and transmedia, particularly Doctor Doom, culminating in his book Data and Doctor Doom: An Empirical Approach To Transmedia Characters (2024). Hibbett holds an MA in Creative Writing (2014), MSc in Computing (1999), and BA in Combined Arts (1991). His research combines empirical methods with pop culture analysis, exploring character coherence across media. He also presents live shows like Data and Doctor Doom, touring in 2025, and contributes to media via The Radio Times and The Funny Comics Fan Club podcast.
