معرفی
Professor Mark Gorrell is a Professor of Liver Science at The University of Sydney, leading the Liver Enzymes in Metabolism and Inflammation Program at the Centenary Institute. His research focuses on liver diseases, diabetes, and proteases like DPP4, DPP9, and FAP. He has authored over 178 publications, with an H-index of 53, and holds several grants and awards for his contributions to liver science and diabetes therapy.
Education: Trained in cell biology, virology, and immunology at Australian National University, University of Melbourne, and Johns Hopkins University.
Research Interests
- DPP4/DPP9/FAP enzymes in liver cancer, chronic liver disease, and diabetes.
- Protease-substrate interactions and their roles in disease pathogenesis.
- Development of diagnostic tools for liver fibrosis and therapeutic targets.
Recent Articles
Recent work includes studies on liver regeneration via normothermic perfusion, bile acid-driven liver cancer, and DPP9's role in DNA repair. His research bridges basic science and clinical applications, particularly in enzyme-based therapies.
