Mark Foster Gage is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Architecture, combining academic work with a prominent architectural practice. His research focuses on aesthetic philosophy and the social implications of built environments, particularly issues of equality and democracy. He is the founder of Mark Foster Gage Architects, known for innovative projects like the Diesel 101 retail space and the Virtual Reality World entertainment center.
His academic contributions include authored monographs such as Designing Social Equality (2018) and edited volumes like Aesthetics Equals Politics (2019). His design work has been recognized with awards including the AIA NY Design Award (2018) for Nicola Formichetti's retail store.
