Mark Eshbaugh

Mark Eshbaugh is a Lecturer and Studio Technician at Saint Anselm College, specializing in Fine Arts Education. His expertise spans photographic chemistry, historic processes, and the integration of digital technologies with traditional methods. He holds an MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Research Interests: Eshbaugh focuses on photographic chemistry (custom developer formulation, archival toning techniques), historic photographic methods, and the synergy between digital and analog processes. His work is detailed in his textbook Alternative Photography Processes: A Worker's Guide (2006). He also explores conceptual photography, visual narratives, and large-format film.

Teaching & Creative Work: Eshbaugh has taught at Bridgewater State University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Montserrat College of Art, Plymouth State University, and others. Beyond academia, he is a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, musician, and writer. His music includes over 40 albums, and he contributed to the 2016 film Ghostbusters.

Exhibitions & Collections: His art appears in solo/group exhibitions globally and is held in institutions like the Photographic Center Northwest and SCAD Museum.
