Mark E. Young serves as Researcher and Historian at the College of Global Hospitality Leadership, University of Houston, where he has been the dedicated archivist and historian since 2008. Holding a Ph.D. in History from The University of Texas at Austin, he brings over 15 years of specialized archival expertise from prestigious institutions including the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library and the Dolph Briscoe Center.
His academic foundation includes:

Dr. Young's research critically examines the historical evolution of the hospitality sector, with concentrated focus on 20th-century hotel chain development and the biographical analysis of Conrad N. Hilton. His scholarly contributions extend to media consultancy for major publications like The New York Times and Wall Street Journal, as well as providing historical accuracy for AMC's 'Mad Men' series through Conrad Hilton biographical research.
Prior academic experience includes teaching history and serving as college archivist at McKendree University, alongside significant contributions to the Houston Oral History Project. His current role centers on curating the Hospitality Archives (Room S210), where he maintains extensive historical collections while supporting research initiatives without active graduate student advising responsibilities.
