Mark DesJardine is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business and holds the Paul E. Raether T’73 Faculty Fellowship. He is also a senior fellow at Wharton’s ESG Analytics Lab. His expertise lies in corporate governance, shareholder activism, and business sustainability. With a PhD from Western University (2016) and BBA from Acadia University (2009), he utilizes econometric tools and large datasets to analyze shareholder engagements and governance dynamics. He serves as an associate editor at Management Science and senior editor at Organization Science. His research focuses on strategic responses to activism, ESG integration, and temporal factors influencing corporate decision-making. Awards include the CFA Charterholder designation and leadership roles in the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability.
Key research interests include how firms balance activist pressures with long-term sustainability goals, the role of temporal focus in risk-taking, and the impact of investor political affiliations on CSR policies. His work bridges corporate governance theory with practical applications in shareholder relations and strategic management.
