Mark Davenport is a Professor in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Regis University's Regis College. He founded Regis University’s first Music Program, spearheading its strategic planning and curriculum design, and established the Recorder Music Center in 2004 to support original research with primary source materials. Recognized for his “music for everyone” mission, he received the 2021 Regis University Outstanding Service Award.
His scholarly work bridges historical performance practice, musicology (early music and American music), art and culture, and education. His forthcoming book explores the Gate Hill Cooperative’s role in progressive art and education. He actively performs and integrates performance practice into his research.
His publications focus on intersections of community building, musicology, art history, and interdisciplinary education. Scientific accolades include the 2021 Outstanding Service Award. He directs the Collegium Musicum early music ensemble and engages in conference activities.
