Dr. Mark Cameron is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine. He holds affiliations with the Center for RNA Science and Therapeutics, Immune Oncology Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Cleveland Institute for Computational Biology. His research focuses on genomic technologies and bioinformatics to identify biomarkers for infectious diseases (e.g., HIV) and chronic inflammatory conditions (e.g., psoriasis). Dr. Cameron leads multiple collaborative cores, including the Applied Functional Genomics Core and CFAR Systems Biology Core, applying systems biology approaches to study immune responses and disease mechanisms.
Education:
- PhD in Microbiology and Immunology, Western University (2000)
- BS in Biology, Western University (1994)
His research interests include functional genomics, single-cell biology, and transcriptomic analysis. He has contributed to over 70 publications, with recent work emphasizing vaccine response optimization, atherosclerosis mechanisms, and sex-dependent immune responses. Dr. Cameron has mentored 5 Master’s students, 3 PhD candidates, and 2 postdoctoral fellows. His labs and teams focus on translational research to bridge genomic discoveries with clinical applications.
