Mark C. Amodio

Mark C. Amodio is a Professor of English at Vassar College, where he has been teaching since 1988. He holds a BA and PhD from the University of California-Berkeley. His primary research focuses on Old and Middle English poetry and prose, oral theory, history of the English language, literary theory, and linguistics. Secondary research interests include Old Norse language and literature, Renaissance drama and poetry, Milton, Orwell, and the relationship between film and literature.

His research explores fundamental questions about the evolution of English literary traditions and oral composition techniques. Current investigations examine linguistic patterns in early British literature and the intersection of medieval poetic forms with modern theoretical frameworks.
