Mark Bradley is a Senior University Teacher and Director of Learning and Teaching at the School of Information, Journalism and Communication, University of Sheffield, where he has served since September 2014 after transitioning from a decade-long career as Group Editor of 12 West Yorkshire weekly newspapers and websites including the Wakefield Express, Dewsbury Reporter, and Halifax Courier.
His expertise spans multimedia journalism transformation, cross-platform editorial strategy, and journalism education, with deep practical experience in converting traditional newsrooms to digital operations and mentoring trainee reporters into senior roles across UK and European media. His teaching focuses on real-world news production across print, online, and social media channels.
As course leader for the MA Journalism program, he directs modules including Researching News, Writing News, Advanced Print Journalism, Communicating with the Media, and Print Portfolio, integrating his industry background to develop students' multimedia storytelling capabilities for contemporary news environments.
