Professor Mark Bowden is a distinguished composer and academic, holding the title of Professor of Music at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London since 2022. He previously served as Director of Composition at Royal Holloway (2007–2022) and as Resident Composer with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (2011–2016). His work spans orchestral, chamber, vocal, and dance music, blending innovation with deep cultural and narrative roots.
His research interests focus on composition, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the intersection of music with dance, theater, and visual art.
