Mark Bonner

Dr. Mark Bonner is a Research Fellow in Soil Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), located in the School of Biology & Environmental Science within the Faculty of Science. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Queensland. His research focuses on soil biogeochemistry, particularly in tropical and boreal ecosystems, with an emphasis on understanding mechanisms driving soil carbon persistence, microbial ecology, and land-use impacts on soil properties. Dr. Bonner’s work integrates field studies, meta-analyses, and experimental approaches to address global challenges in soil management and restoration.
