Mark Basham is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Regis College, Regis University, specializing in behavioral neuroscience through integrated teaching and research initiatives.
His research investigates two core domains: (1) molecular neurobiology of motor learning via tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and LRP receptor mechanisms in rodent models, and (2) therapeutic potential of late-in-life cognitive challenges for mitigating age-related cognitive decline in rats. Complementing this, he examines philosophical implications of neuroscience regarding consciousness and free will.
Dr. Basham teaches advanced courses in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, and neuropharmacology alongside foundational psychology and neuroscience curricula. His dual focus on empirical research and conceptual inquiry establishes him as a pivotal figure in Regis University's neuroscience education framework.
