Dr Mark Atherton is a Senior College Lecturer at Regent's Park College and a Stipendiary Lecturer at Mansfield College, both at the University of Oxford. He specializes in medieval literature, focusing on Old English and Anglo-Latin texts, with particular attention to tenth-century English cultural and political identity. His research explores the intersections of literature, war, and religious typology, as seen in works like The Battle of Maldon.
